GENESIS

It all started with a crazy idea. I wanted to run a marathon without training. It sounds stupid, but for me, life has always been mental. If you control your mind, you control your reality. So during one of those classic family Christmas talks, I said I could run a marathon without training. It's all in my head. My uncle, who has done several marathons, laughed and said, “That's impossible. It’s too risky. Your body just won't handle it.” Of course, I had to prove him wrong.

I asked him for just one thing: “Teach me everything but the running part: diet, breathing, gear, all that.” The first thing he said, “Eat oats an hour before your run. They'll fuel you longer.” He explained it like this: “Simple carbs are like paper in a fire, quick to burn, quick to die. Oats, they're like a log, slow to ignite, but they keep you going.” I started eating oats every single morning to get my body used to it.

Week one, great. Week four, I couldn't stand them, so I got creative. I made recipes that actually tasted good, were packed with nutrition and quick to prep. After many tries, there was one batch where everything clicked and I knew Takenoats was born. But how were we gonna compete with the biggest players out there? Breakfast has been around since the beginning of time.

I tested the final batch locally, and people loved it. Meanwhile, I hit my marathon goal, 42 kilometers under four hours, with basically no training (I did train for like two weeks). But here's the thing: marathons leave you wanting more, not because they feel good (they don't), but because being uncomfortable changes you. A few weeks later, I realized that I was getting too comfortable again, so my 9-5 became a thing of the past and I took on Takenoats full-time.

They said running a marathon untrained was impossible. They said starting an oats business was even crazier. But here we are and this is just the beginning.
